Social Security does not add to the deficit. Anybody that tells you differently is lying. Social Security is self funded and for years was running a surplus. Now, that surplus was pilfered and is filled with a bunch of IOUs bunch, but that does not mean Social Security is adding to the debt and deficit.
Despite this simple truth, Republicans and the MSM will lie to you. They will lie and the Republican solution to the lie is to cut Social Security. Their solution will hurt the most vulnerable among us, the poor and elderly. But Republicans don't care about them. Republicans don't care about you. They don't care if you die. They don't care if you live in pain. They must protect the 1% and you must suffer because of it.
Mike Pence, who is suspected to run for President in 2024, has just confirmed that hurting the most vulnerable among us will be a priority for him. He will of course mask this evil as "presidential leadership." Strangely, this "presidential leadership" was missing during the Trump/Pence administration. They increased the deficit every year they were in office. Biden, on the other hand, has decreased the deficit every year he has been in office. But that doesn't matter. A Republican will never let the truth get in the way of their greed. Republicans are going to make grandma suffer.
So remember, the next time you vote, whether local, state, or federal, Republicans don't care about you. After you vote for them, you are expendable.
To ignore a looming debt crisis that is driven by social security and medicare is unconscionable. So long as the President is failing to lead on that issue, Republicans should make it clear that they’re open to compassionate and responsible entitlement reforms down the road. pic.twitter.com/7BqTe7uokF— Mike Pence (@Mike_Pence) March 2, 2023
